I was in my mid-40s, living in New Jersey, when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and didn’t quite recognize the face looking back at me.

“When did this happen?”

Dryness. Loss of elasticity. Wrinkles that seemed to appear overnight. I knew aging was coming — I just didn’t expect it to arrive all at once. My husband was on assignment in New Jersey at the time, and that’s when my skin concerns truly began.

But the harder chapter came next.

When my husband returned to Korea, I moved to Texas. And Texas was a different world. The sun was relentless, the summers felt endless, and the UV rays showed no mercy. Dark spots appeared where there had been none. Wrinkles deepened. My skin felt less and less like my own.

That’s when my husband started bringing Korean skincare home every time he visited.

At first, I tried it with cautious optimism — half curious, half skeptical. But when I started doing a collagen sheet mask every single evening, something began to shift. My skin started to glow. At first I thought it was just my imagination. But the feeling kept growing stronger.

Then one day, something happened that I’ll never forget.

I was dropping my husband off at the airport when one of the airport staff approached me.

“Excuse me — what skincare do you use? Your skin looks amazing.”

I told her: K-beauty. She asked if I could send her a link. As it happened, I had a Korean skincare product in my bag — and I gave it to her as a gift right then and there. The look on her face stayed with me.

That was the moment I knew.

This wasn’t just my story. So many women are quietly struggling with their skin — and K-beauty genuinely works. That’s why I started this blog. To share what I’ve learned from being close to the beauty industry, and what my own skin has lived through.

Being in your 50s doesn’t mean it’s too late. Honestly? My skin has never looked better than it does right now.

I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s talk skin. 😊
